When New File at Startup is checked, FreeStyle automatically opens a new file when you first open the program. When it is unchecked, FreeStyle opens, but no file appears. Instead, you choose either New or Open from the File menu to open a file. This option also provides a pop-up menu from which you can choose a default ensemble for new files.
